Spent a couple days tent camping here with the family. Had fun semi-roughing it. We got to pick out a camping spot & unlike other places to camp here, we were probably one of only two groups there. It really was a getaway. Cooking by fire was fun. You gather your own wood. They have running water so you can shower & wash things. Not the cleanest showers but you are camping so not bad. Had a couple hikes in the area. Was super windy so batten down your stakes! Would love to go again. Be sure to bring good lights for when it goes dark.

We had a 10-day event here in 2015 and everything went very well. The staff were very helpful and the facilities were ideal for our needs. This camp sits near of summit on the southwest side of a mountain on Oahu. You can see the ocean from nearly any place in camp. Most of the facilities are somewhat rustic, more like a Boy Scout camp than a hotel/convention center. Camp is compact and everything is relatively close in proximity - central meeting room, dining hall, swimming pool, cabins, bunkhouse, small covered pavilion, a large house with 3-4 bedrooms, etc. The cabins don't have showers or restrooms but those are available nearby. I don't think any of the buildings have AC but the climate is moderate and cool at night, so that wasn't a problem for us. Our group included about 35 people but I would estimate their facilities could easily accommodate 2 or 3 times that number. I would highly recommend this place for groups who are looking for a comfortable yet somewhat rustic & remote setting. (UPDATE: This camp was called "Camp Timberline" when we were there in 2015. The name has since changed to "Camp Palehua".)

It is the most awesome camp that I have ever been to yet! I went there for my 5th grade overnighter! It was a blast and I really did missed it when we got back to class and everyone missed it too. The funny part was that the weather was so cool there that when we got back to Nanakuli, it was super hot. :)
