The library looks brand new. Book selves are packed with books new and old. Librarians are friendly. Place looks clean inside and out. It even have space spare to setup exhibition of Hawaiian art.

They have a great movie selection that you can rent for a whole week for $1. It's the cheapest way to rent a movie. Also, the staff were very helpful. The only bad thing is that you can only use their outlets in a specific location to charge your things. I observed a man getting a scolding from one of the security staff. He was using a floor outlet near the book shelves.

One of the better libraries I've visited on Oahu, given those have been restricted mostly to Leeward side of the island. No quiet areas, study rooms or anything of that sort. They have a ridiculous policy of requiring your library card, though they can look you up or use your card number easily enough. They can't tell you why this is the policy, as it certainly makes no sense, but they stand by it steadfastly. An alternative to producing your physical library card when checking out materials, is to login to the official Hawaii Public Library System app. Of course, the app doesn't work or perhaps it is my account and though I provide the correct credentials, it just spins and spins. When I ask for assistance, via the Library staff and including the Branch Manager herself, I'm told there is nothing they can do and you have to "contact the app developer". You think some random app developer is going to tell me if I'm using an incorrect pin number? No one seems to know how to manage anything outside of show me your library card or produce your $5 for a replacement, which is disappointing.

This is a nice big library next to the park. It's got a big reading area for kids. They do story time for kids on Mon and Thu mornings. The staff is friendly. It would just be nice if they weren't such sticklers about you having to have your library card with you.

Beautiful library with plenty of work stations and free wifi with a library account.
