Suffice it to say, I am not going back. I am PAYING full price to have someone else do my safety inspection. I just wish I had seen a review like this BEFORE I wasted 7 hours of my time driving back and forth and waiting and driving back and forth some more. Take heed. You have been warned.

Trip 3-After having the tinting removed I come back to the store to fix the inspection report. Turns out the ONLY person who can do safety inspections does not work on Tuesdays!?! Why was this not told to me when I left after the first inspection? I work about 1 hour away and have to take time off work to do this. Fine I make an appointment for the following day.

While the first gal had zero customer service skills, the bigger issue is the way this facility is run. There is no point in taking appointments if you cannot come close to keeping them. There is no point in doing a 45 minute inspection (any other one I have had has been 15 minutes) on a vehicle that clearly has the wrong tinting if another FULL inspection is going to be required. There is no point in even having a waiting room if there is no place to sit. The whole thing is insulting, ridiculous and shows incredible lack of judgement for customer relations.

If I could give this a negative review I would. The staff are clearly overworked and forced to try and make an impossible system work. Here is the scenario, sorry if this seems long, but trust me if it is long for you to READ it, imagine living it!

Literally...the worst service to date! 8 hours to replace a tire??? These dudes take more smoke breaks than I've ever seen. I was charged a ridiculous amount of money for a tire, service and installation. I was charged $6.50 to dispose of the tire? I wasn't even given an option?? Place is a rip off. If they had a cure for cancer I would still go to Costco for service. Never again!

Trip 4-I show up for my appointment 15 minutes early to a VERY packed waiting room. Upon check-in, I am told it is going to be at least an hour wait before he can even get to my car and then it will be a 45 minute inspection. I remind him that I have an appointment and they only need to verify the tinting has been removed. I am told that is not how it is done, an ENTIRELY new full inspection needs to be done. When I ask why, he says, cause things with the vehicle might have changed. On a 6 month old car????? Seriously? That was not what I was told before and I did not have 2 hours of time on a work day to STAND (again only 5 chairs to sit on) around and wait for them to re-do an inspection on a vehicle they had JUST inspected a few days previously. He offered to “make me an appointment” on the following Saturday, when I could wait more time. Cause that is just what I want to do on my Saturday afternoon, stand around for 2 hours, as I’m sure no one else will be there on a Saturday.

This is an update:

An 8 AM appointment for a one hour diagnostic experience turned into a 4 1/2 hour wait. Then, a $270 quote turned into $306 after taxes and undisclosed "shop fees." Shouldn't the quote include the taxes and fees? Were these a surprise to them too? While I have had positive experiences with other Goodyear auto repair centers, coming here is slightly more fun than falling on a grenade.

Trip 1-take our vehicle in for a safety inspection, a 6 month old car that was shipped from Guam. Gal say they are way backed up and I can make an appointment. GREAT! I do that and come back 3 days later.

Trip 2-I arrive 10 minutes early for my appointment and the waiting room is packed. They only have 5 chairs so there is no place to sit. I check in and ask the person behind the counter about how long it will be. The response, “I have no idea”. To which I say, “What do you mean you have no idea? I have a 10am appointment for a safety inspection. About how long do those take”. Her response, “I have no idea there are people ahead of you”. At which point my question is, “What is the point of making an appointment if walkin’s are still taken ahead of me?”. She rolls her eyes. So, off I go to stand in a corner and wait for……….almost on HOUR AND A HALF. Did I mention this was a basic vehicle inspection so I could register my vehicle??? Ironically, when the dealer put the tinting in they did not verify the legal % in Hawaii so our poor car failed the inspection due to incorrect tinting. The guy who checks me out says, “Have the tinting removed and come back and we will clear that off the report. No need to make an appointment.” Frustrating but the law is the law.

After sharing my frustration with the manager, he did a good job handling my concerns. He took off the taxes and fees that were undisclosed plus an additional $20. That's the way you make an upset customer happy. Good job! The untimeliness was still frustrating, but at least I paid less than what I was expecting to pay.

Horrible experience this morning! Went in to have an oil change done and rotate tires. Colleen and an employee there helped me. I felt like I was speaking to a robot with a bit of sarcasm. The action that got me upset the most was when my car was done and I asked where it was parked her reply to me was, pointing outside to the parking lot, somewhere out there! Who does that??!!

Incredibly stressful customer service. I stopped for three scheduled to get tire change and safety inspection. Got turned away all three times for them ordering the wrong tire after writing down the tire size numbers and the inspection guy always left early.... they then sent me to Waipahu location where I was told I they would take care of everything. Turns out they don't even do service inspections. Ewa Beach location was no help at all either. They just turn you away when they have too much work. Thanks for wasting my time Robert from goodyear. Never using goodyear again.
