The 2 stars is because the view is excellent and the dancers were good.
Our server Lisa was amazing and it was great to not have to get up and wait in bar or buffet lines with the best package.
This is the Disneyland of luaus, and not in a good way. There was 1400 people there and the servers were literally yelling as you tried to get through the buffet line. I’m not sure where the other reviewers have eaten food but “tremendous” and “excellent” are not the words I would use. The vegetables were basically just frozen mixed veggies. The dessert was just store bought sheet cake. This is the definition of a money grabbing tourist trap. Please don’t spend your hard earned vacation money on this. There is plenty of places on Oahu to spend $100 on dinner and you’ll walk out smiling.
My co-worker who grew up on Oahu said this was the best Luau on Oahu. So my wife and I booked the premium luau package. We enjoyed the food and service that came with the premium package. The performer's were very professional and all of them looked like they were having fun. This made the luau feel cozy and the sunset was absolutely amazing. My wife and I would do this luau again.
We did not book ahead either, we just purchased tickets as a walk in which was fine, just call ahead to check availability and weather. It is outdoors so if it rains they will cancel.
The grounds for the luau are beautiful, and the staff was great. There are several activities to do before settling in for your dinner and show. I wish it was more intimate, and by that, I mean out group was over 700 people. With that many people, it definitely loses any trace of authenticity it may have had left. It was a fun experience, but not one I will likely do twice. The food was great.
Oh and the arrival drink is terrible but it get a better from there.
Was a good experience and I loved that it was literally on the sand right next to a beach. We upgraded to the best option as we just found the staff and seating in the cheap area just not friendly or accommodating.
Deluxe package was included in our travel arrangements and we were skeptical at first but our chaperone cousin Emma was absolutely fantastic. She took her time to get to know everyone on the bus and remembered a personal detail about all 48 of us. On our way there she had a couple of amazing jokes and was just all around great entertainment. The Luau itself was awesome, with breathtaking views of the ocean and sunset. We didn’t follow all the activities and just took our time walking around before dinner and taking pictures in front of the shoreline but the activities we did see were fun and entertaining. Dinner was delicious with 4 meat choices and great table service. The traditional dancing and Emcee Summer were all top notch. On our way home cousin Emma did not disappoint and her and Captain Slow (our bus driver) again delivered entertainment we will forever remember with choreographed dancing, singing, and quality information on Hawaiian and Polynesian culture. If you get a chance, spend some time with cousin Emma, we loved her.
