Know kids attending both this program and the one on Hawaii island. Hawaii island seems to be all that they say. . . ☺

Great program. When I was 15 my Mom was ready to kick me out of the house unless I went to Youth Challenge. I went from skipping school every day, doing drugs and drinking, to becoming focused, at the top of my class with ambition, respect for others and discovered my drive. Went on to become a Hebrew Translator in the Air Force. Not an easy program, 1/3 of the kids will drop out due to mental weakness. I was fed more than I could eat, had 24 hour supervision, cameras everywhere, and had great military mentors. There were fights between the hard-heads in the first couple weeks (don't forget there are kids that are court ordered to be there) but if you stay on track you will be fine. Great wake up call if your kid does not appreciate privileges; you can leave at any time. Highly recommend this program.

I love this program. I always recommend this program to my family and friend's. So thankful to have a program like this for all of our youth male or female 16 yrs and up.

It was a great experience in yca I graduated class 40 changed my life

Same for O'ahu, - when it comes to the fights and lack of safety for your child. ( shame on the police and CWS)

ABANDON ALL HOPE YE who enter these gates. Child protection services has no Jurisdiction over this program. I am NOT AFFILIATED with this program. I am a former HCAP/pact teachers aide and Kapolei resident. On 1/29/16 I encountered a male Maui youth outside Foodland Kapolei pky. He was hungry and seeking phone assistance to contact his family. The minor stated he ran away from the program because they were being mistreated; "Being fed very little"; "Made to perform standing drills for 6 hours in the sun with out water" not protected from numerous fights initiated by Oahu youth. Kapolei police confirmed a big fight between the Oahu & Maui youth Friday night. I contacted Child Protection Services 2/1 to file a complaint but they maintain they do not have jurisdiction over the program. Moreover, CPS rep stated that the program has been described as being harder than real boot camp! CPS referred me to state ombudsman office; they said they could not take action without speaking to the youth directly. US soldiers are given up to 3400 calories per day & ample water. this program appears to be about "breaking individuals". Parents please choose another program OR the REAL army.
