Beautiful beach on Oahu's West side. Commonly overlooked by tourists because of the nearby powerplant and lack tourist attraction qualities this beach is a gem. It can be a bit dirty and not maintained at times but once in the water experienced divers and freedivers will understand the attraction. That being said this is definitely not the place for begginers or small children. The current can sometimes be fairly strong, and the main attraction is a giant pipe shooting water out deeper into the ocean. If an inexperienced swimmer were to get caught in that it could be a bad day.

Has good showers and facilities and a covered pavilion. Kind of dirty, but the water is beautiful and so is the view. Dolphins often swim by in the morning.

It's the beach I go to the most, unfortunately people that like to spin up the beach have busted it up pretty good. The south side of the power plant has a pavilion, bathrooms, and a small little beach that a lot of scuba divers use. The north side of the plant has some picnic tables and fire pits. Last time I was out there only two of the pits were still standing. The south side hasn't changed much over the years and is in good shape. The north side is where all the truck people go to test out their vehicles. If you go during the week it's usually pretty quiet. The truck guys typically only show up on weekends and holidays and even then they usually wait until the evening to start spinning up the beach. The hot water pipe is the big attractions at that beach. There is a decent variety of sea life in the area. I've seen small reef sharks, octopus, turtles, several species of eel, and a large variety of fish. From the beach you can also see dolphins and whales from time to time breaching out in the deeper water. You can see them fine with your eyes but I prefer to bring a small set of binoculars along to get a better view. Hope this helps anyone looking to visit.

Used to live on Oahu. Not the greatest beach, but snorkeling out to the pipe is the best for seeing underwater wildlife. Only for strong swimmers.

Good snorkeling spot. We went on a day the waves were rough and it was a workout! We saw a nice sea turtle, eel, and lots of other fish! I wouldn't recommend for a beginner or someone who doesn't swim well.
