The snorkeling is the main attraction here and with good reason. The quantity and variety of fish is outstanding. If you are lucky you may see spinner dolphin and turtles too! That said, if you are not a strong swimmer definitely DO NOT attempt this!! There is no life guard here and the currents can be and often are very strong! Heading back to the beach, I was swimming as hard as I could and not making any headway!! Take one of the tours instead. You'll have more time and energy to enjoy the amazing snorkeling and more importantly, you will be safe!
Some of the best snorkeling around. Must be careful. Currents can be strong and getting back I to the beach area can be a real challenge even for stronger swimmers. They now have rescue posted up there on most days. Plus mongoose!!
Make your way out to the pipes. Lots of fish and an occasional turtle. Be careful of strong currents and people bodyboarding. You may see spinner dolphins if you're there early. Great little beach with restrooms and shower but no lifeguards.
These beaches are just beautiful. Long and uncrowded with lots of free parking. Watch out for any tents though. Those usually house the homeless. Your walking on their land so give them some space. Other than that they seem pretty harmless and give space to you too.
I do not see too much fish, but a lot crab. Maybe season is not the same. View is acceptable (but there are much more famous beach in Oahu), and less people, easy to park. There are homeless people around, residing in the park.
